A third phase for the Center for Technological Innovation in Isla Fuerte

Isla Fuerte, Bolívar -IPSE 2010Isla Fuerte, Bolívar -IPSE 2010Isla Fuerte is a tourist destination south of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, at a distance of 6.6 miles of the continent, belonging to the chain of islands made up of San Bernardo, Tortuguilla and Rosario Islands. This natural paradise, suitable for water sports like diving practices, offers crystal clear water with a huge variety navy, which between corals and species from the Colombian Caribbean, served as the stage for a community friendly, hardworking, surrounded by immense natural wealth, landscape and cultural, yet marginalized from development.

In Isla Fuerte, IPSE implemented the Technology Innovation Center with emphasis on gaseous fuels and solar energy project that guarantees a better use of available energy resources in the area, improving service delivery of energy and becomes a vehicle for improving the living conditions of the community.

Training in energy issues as a result of SENA-IPSE agreement in the upper Guajira

Follow up of the Technological Innovation Centers project
Seguimiento a proyectos MedellínSeguimiento a proyectos MedellínOn the premises of the Faculty of Mines, National University of Colombia-Medellin, was held on Friday 13th August, a follow up meeting to check the status and progress of the agreements between IPSE and the different national and international entities, for development issues including: agro-energy, bioclimatic house, programs for Rational and Efficient Use of Energy, in addition to the energy infrastructure projects and the use of renewable resources.

This activity allowed each of the project leaders to present the progress and difficulties found in their development. IPSE currently has agreements with: National university of Colombia, Medellin, Technological Park of Antioquia-PTA; Corporation for the Sustainable Development Urabá - CORPOURABÁ; Unión Temporal de Mutatá Biodiesel; National Energy Financial-FEN; Energy Company of "Bajo Putumayo"; "Unión Temporal Fulgor", Renewable Energy Company of Spain PROINSO; Company ALDAR of Argentina through the Temporary Titumate, Institute for the Development of Antioquia, IDEA, through the Financial Mechanism of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.

New Headquarters for IPSE
From next September 6th, 2010, IPSE moved its headquarters to 99th Street # 9ª -54 (100 Street - Equity Insurance building). 13-14-15 stores. In this new headquarters will be available information on energy projects in the non interconnected zones and general aspects of missionary activities of the entity.

Japanese cooperation to energy projects in Guajira
Guajira ColombianaGuajira ColombianaBetween 11th and August 13th 2010, officials of IPSE traveled to Villanueva (Guajira), to meet with the Ambassador of Japan, Tatsumaro Terazawa and his team to have a tour in several locations in the Upper and Middle Guajira, as Uribia, El Cardon, Cabo de la Vela and Riohacha. From that town began moving overland to the population of Uribia, distanced 92 km from Riohacha, and then to Cabo de la Vela through Jepirachi wind farm, a place where the ambassador of Japan met with the Mayor of Uribia, Ms. Cielo Redondo, and Wayuu indians leaders, who were waiting to greet him and invite him to see a sample of the crafts Wayuu, an important source of income to the villagers due to the exceptional beauty of the fabrics, colors and textures.
